Normal Weekly Grooming Schedule
Our goal is to groom trails on each mountain weekly. However weather, snow conditions,
logistics, etc. frequently cause variability in the miles of trails groomed and may shift the day
grooming occurs. Fishlake grooming schedule is subject to change.

Folks,
As of 3/3/10 the snow cat seems to be down for the count. The onboard computer is really having problems. We were able to groom the Beaver Mountain run yesterday but not without some serious mechanical problems. The other runs have not been groomed. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we can't risk machinery and people when the snow cat is unreliable. Thanks for your support so far this year and be safe while you're out there tearing it up!

Hello folks--
First off, the apologies. We had some more issues with the snow cat trailer this week. It is chewing through tires and we don't know why. Then the cat had some serious health issues as well. Despite the new snow, we were not able to get out and groom any of the trails. With the snow and the wind and the drifting it might be rough out there. We will be out there starting next week on our normal schedule. Sorry for the inconvenience. Be safe and have fun.

This last week we groomed all of our trails within the complex, but noticed that snow is thin and packed down hard. It was difficult to cut down the moguls without having any new snow. This weekend looks very promising in bringing that new snow which means good grooming and riding conditions. Beaver Mountain was groomed on Monday the 15th from City Creek to Kents Lake and Puffer Lake trail heads. Monroe Mountain was groomed on Tuesday the 16th from Koosharem to Big Lake and Monrovian Park. Fishlake was groomed on Wednesday the 17th from Bowery Haven to Gooseberry and Sand Ledges. The cat is running great and we plan on grooming all our normal runs next week according to our regular schedule. Have fun and be safe.

Hello all! The last two weeks we have been able to keep up on our grooming on all the trails despite some problems with the snow cat. It's back up and running without a problem now. Snow levels are good up top but are getting thin with all this sun at the lower, south facing elevations. Gooseberry is especially thin right now. Beaver is in excellent shape with little drifting and deep powder. Monroe is good up top but out of Koosharem and on the switchbacks by Signal Peak the road is thin.
We are out and about this week as well. Beaver Mountain was groomed yesterday and Monroe will be done tonight. Fishlake will be groomed tomorrow. Be safe and have fun!

With all the new snow, riding conditions are great right now. Beaver Mountain was groomed on Tuesday the 26th from City Creek to Kents Lake and Puffer Lake with a couple feet of new snow. Conditions are great.
Monroe Mountain was groomed from Koosharem to Big Lake to Monrovian Park on Wednesday the 27th with over two feet of new powder up there. The wind really causes some heavy drifting up there so be aware.
Fishlake mountain was not groomed this week due to a breakdown of the snowcat trailer. It will be groomed next week at its usual time. If you have any questions or comments let us know. Thanks and be safe.

As of Saturday, 23, 2010:
We were able to complete our entire grooming run this week with plenty of new snow on all the trails. On Monday, the 18th the Beaver Mountain was groomed from City Creek to Kents Lake and Puffer Lake trail heads. Snow conditions are great up there and there is over 5 feet of snow on top in places.
On Tuesday the 19th, the Monroe Mountain was groomed from Koosharem to Big Lake and then to Monrovian Park. There were several new inches of snow at the trail heads and about a foot of new snow up on top.
On Wednesday the 20th, Fishlake was groomed from Bowery Haven to Gooseberry to Sand Ledges. Again, there was new snow at all the trail heads and grooming went well.
Snow fell later in the week on all the mountains and made it even better. Have fun and be safe.

The snow cat
was back up and running this week. We were able to groom on all three
mountains to all trail heads. The Beaver Mountain is in great shape
with plenty of snow and good conditions. The Monroe Mountain was groomed
but is thin on all south-facing slopes and roads. It's even a little
thin on top as well. Fishlake is also very thin, especially from Gooseberry
Trail head and at the Sand Ledges. Hopefully this new storm dropped
new snow on all the mountains. Have fun and be safe.

Good news! The snow cat was repaired and up and running. We are resuming grooming activities this week. Beaver Mountain will be groomed today from City Creek to Puffer and Kents Lake trail heads. Tomorrow we will groom Monroe Mountain and on Wednesday Fishlake will be groomed from Bowery Haven to Gooseberry and back down to Sand Ledges. This will be our operating schedule for the rest of the season. Thanks and be safe!

All trails were groomed last week. Conditions were good generally but there were some bare spots on Gooseberry Road due to the wind. Grooming started again yesterday, 1/5/10 on the Beaver Mountain from City Creek to Puffer Lake trail head. Snow conditions were excellent and there had obviously been a lot of traffic up there. Unfortunately, the snow cat has developed a leak in the water pump and will need to be down for repairs. Hopefully this won't take long, and we'll be back out there before this coming weekend. We'll keep you posted. Thanks and be safe.

Happy New Year to everyone. This season has turned out to be a great one so far. Beaver, Fishlake, and Monroe Mountains have all been groomed this last week. Traffic has been heavy, especially on the Beaver. Snow conditions up there are great with over 52" of snow on top. It was groomed from City Creek Trail head to Puffer Lake and Kents Lake trail heads.
Monroe Mountain was groomed from Koosharem Trail Head to Big Lake and then to Monrovian Park. Snow is deep on top but the road had been plowed from Koosharem to beyond Milo's Kitchen.
Fishlake is still thin from Bowery Have to Seven Mile on the road and from the summit to Gooseberry due to drifting and plowing. From Sandledges it is deeper though and the groomer was only able to get halfway on that run and could not get to the summit.
Be safe out there and enjoy the new year.

As of Thursday,
December 17, 2009 we have begun our grooming runs on both the Beaver
and Fishlake Mountains. Snow on the Beaver is excellent running from
about 10 inches at the City Creek Trailhead to over 3 feet up on top.
The trail was groomed from City Creek to both Kents Lake Trailhead
and the Puffer Lake Trailhead.
Fishlake was groomed from Bowery Haven to the Mt. Terrill summit where
the road construction has reached. Snow conditions are poor at Bowery
Haven and improve as you climb 7 Mile. The road has been plowed by
the construction company from the Gooseberry side to the summit leaving
us unable to groom farther. Runs will continue to be from Bowery Haven
to the summit until enough snow is on the road to groom further.
If you have any questions feel free to contact the State Parks and
Recreation OHV Education office at (801) 538-RIDE or (800) OHV-RIDE.
Grooming will begin on the Monroe Mountain next week as well.
Be safe

As of today, Friday December 4, 2009 we have been busy making sure our trail markers are in place and the equipment is ready to go. Special thanks to the USFS Beaver and Richfield offices for helping with the trail marking and UDOT for assisting us in places to store our equipment. As a note to you snowmobilers, the Fishlake Complex is trying something new this year. We will have four full-time groomers working on the trails this year instead of just 2 or 3 in years past. Hopefully this will mean better trails out there for you. Also, we will be grooming at night so be aware if you are out and about.
As soon as there is sufficient snow at the trailheads we will begin our grooming operations. If you have any questions or comments feel free to contact the State Parks and Recreation OHV Education office at (801) 538-RIDE or (800) OHV-RIDE.
Thanks and be safe out there.
